Yoga’s Rising Popularity in the Modern World

The demand for yoga is increasing rapidly. People are showing tremendous interest in yoga, largely due to advancements in technology.
As usual, when demand increases and something becomes popular, there are always people who want to benefit from it.

When Hype Replaces Understanding

Some people start talking about it just to get recognition, without even knowing the basics. They do fancy things to make it fit with their lifestyle.
You know, when you do something just for show, you miss its true potential and depth.

Many people see yoga as an opportunity too. Nowadays, it seems like if you can’t do anything else, you become a yoga teacher and market yourself.

People who have never experienced oneness for even a moment in their lives become yoga teachers. They teach basic physical exercises and other practices in distorted ways, calling it yoga.

When yoga is taught without depth or experience, it becomes a distortion that misguides rather than transforms.

Yoga Means Union – Not Just Movement

Yoga doesn’t just mean doing some postures with your body, twisting and bending it in different ways, or holding and releasing your breath abnormally.
The main purpose of yoga is not to have a beautiful-looking body or muscles or to achieve any social media pose.

The word “yoga” comes from the Sanskrit root “yuj,” which means “to join” or “to unite.” It signifies that in one’s experience, everything has become one.
Yoga means getting the most basic and important parts of our life—our body, mind, and energy—to work together, not against each other. It’s about us working with these parts in harmony.

The real purpose of yoga is not to look flexible on social media, but to become integrated within yourself.

A Science, Not a Show

These are not vague or empty claims; there’s an entire science behind it, from the basics to the advanced, from the fundamentals to the ultimate.
This is referred to as yogic science or inner science.

Yoga is not a performance—it’s a profound inner science meant to unite the body, mind, and energy.

It is essential to ensure that as the demand for yoga increases and more people show interest in it, the science of yoga is transmitted in its true sense, with absolute depth and purity, by responsible hands. It should not be taught in distorted ways that could handicap people in some ways or others.
